Our Venturi STC carbon road bike is an evolution of our much loved speed machine. We knew nothing had to be revolutionised with this bike so we have kept the geometry and handling that makes the Venturi so easy to ride and updated the frameset and cockpit to make it even better. We now have a fully integrated cockpit on every model for improved front-end aero performance and a clean look.
If you like a fast road bike with razor-sharp handling and a high degree of comfort then this is the bike for you. The headtube has also been modified to over-sized 1” ½ bearings top and bottom for added stiffness and to help facilitate the fully internal cables.
All the key features from our first design remain; aero tubing with a fully custom ST Carbon layup for low weight and a high stiffness, 28c tyre optimisation for added comfort and decreased rolling resistance and flat mount disc brakes for serious stopping power.
We manufactured the Venturi using spread tow carbon from the leading UK manufacturer, Sigmatex. This exquisite carbon fabric uses unidirectional spread tow tapes, allowing for a much larger number of fibres in a smaller space. As a result of this, we have been able to create a frame and fork that is exceptionally low in weight, while boasting brilliant stiffness and comfort.
SigmaST is an innovative carbon fibre textile, increasingly used for its lightweight nature and improved mechanical performance when compared to traditional carbon textiles. It is 20% lighter than traditional carbon fabrics and has an excellent strength to weight ratio. This technology is highly advantageous in such industries where there is an increasing demand for strength and stiffness combined with low weight.
Sigmatex is one of the world’s leading independent converters of carbon fibre. With the widest range of textile technologies and proprietary manufacturing equipment, Sigmatex supplies a wide spectrum of advanced composite materials to the Automotive, Aerospace, Marine, Wind Energy, Sports and Leisure markets from its global locations. Sigmatex has a proven track record, converting large quantities of carbon fibre each year for major projects that require high levels of quality and reliability.
Our Specially designed aero disc road bike has been designed with 28c tyres in mind. From the beginning of the design process, we realised that we wanted to create a road bike that rewarded the rider with serious speed but could also cruise in comfort when the pace needed slowing down. With that in mind, we knew 28c tyres was the way to go.
Using 28c tyres has allowed us to reduce the space between the tyres and the frame smoothing airflow over the frame instead of creating turbulent air behind the tyre.
Optimising the Venturi for 28C tyres allows the rider to reap the benefits of wider tyres on a road bike. Some of these include the allowance of lower tyre pressure, running lower PSI improves comfort. Two ther major factors are improved grip and decreased rolling resistance. If you, the rider are more comfortable then you can ride faster, for longer.
A two piece axle lever that makes thru-axles simple to remove and looks great. The removable lever and hollow axle mean they are extremely lightweight, removing the lever once tightened also makes them more aerodynamic and adds extra security for your wheels.
We have extensively tested different carbon layups to make sure we have the best combination of speed and comfort on the Venturi. We had 3 different layups designed and made into framesets, then tested them all back-to-back. It's this time and effort that make sure our Venturi carbon road bike is as fast as possible, all the time.
From front to back our tube profiles cut through the air as effectively as possible, helped by a super clean front end and reduced gap between tyres and frame.
With a super stiff bottom bracket and downtube the Venturi STC transmits watts onto the road efficiently to eat up miles as fast as the rider is able.
Getting the rider into the best position out on the road with: size specific components, our bespoke STC carbon fibre layup, and clearance for 28c tyres.
While carbon road bikes are more expensive, they are certainly worth it if you are looking to instantly improve your speed. Our Venturi STC range of carbon road bikes are made with specialised STC (spread tow carbon) from Sigmatex, and are impossibly light.
Made from weaving carbon fibre strands and setting with a hard epoxy resin, carbon road bike frames are very light, strong, and stiff. The material is easy to craft into aerodynamic shapes, and allows engineers to play with variable strength or flex in crucial areas of the bike. Carbon allows for lighter frames, with more durability.
Whether carbon road bikes are better than aluminium or titanium road bikes depends on the type of cyclist you are and what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for speed, stability and impact resistance on a bike that will look impeccable for years to come, we recommend going carbon. But who are we to decide for you? Our advice is to test both and see which ride you personally prefer.
Carbon is the way to go if you want a bike that will last. Carbon doesn’t fatigue over time, and bar any major impacts or abuse, your carbon bike frame will be as good in 20 years time as the day you bought it.
The short answer is no. The long answer is definitely not. Our Orro carbon road bikes are made with STC (spread tow carbon) using Sigmatex technology. Let’s just say you won’t find a better, faster, lighter, and more durable carbon road bike anywhere on the market.
Yes. Our Orro carbon bikes are designed for speed. Engineered with lightweight STC (spread tow carbon), and boasting tube profiles for optimum aerodynamic performance, our carbon road bikes are the ideal racing bike for amateur or professional cyclists and hobbyists alike. They are even used by many professional riders and UK Pro Team, Orro Trainsharp Elite, who we now sponsor.
We offer a range of high end and high spec groupsets that can be added to our Venturi carbon bike range, including the Di2 and the Ultegra series. Our Orro bikes are built with all our riders and their groupset loyalties in mind.
